History

A relatively new team, SSC has acheived remarkable success in the past 10 years!! We strive for continued improvement for all members, from novice to national level.

  2009 Summer Highlights:

  • Selected by USA Swimming as one of the country’s TOP 35 clubs, the highest in Indiana
  • Senior State Champions
  • Age Group State Runner-up Team
  • Age Group State Champs 11-12 girls
  • National Champions 11-12 girls relay
  • Largest Contigent of Swimmers at the US Open out of all Indiana Teams
  • Host Team for World Championship Trials
  • Only team in Indiana to Reach USA Swimming’s Level IV status (the highest level granted)

2007 Summer Highlights:

  • Senior State Fourth Place Team (second among non-college based teams)
  • Age Group State Runner-up Team
  • Age Group State Champs for 10 & under girls and 11-12 boys
  • Team Champs 4 Relays at Age Group State
  • Numerous Zone Champions
  • Highest Place Team in Indiana at (Senior) National Championships
  • Largest Contingent of Indiana Swimmers at both Junior & Senior Nationals
  • Host Team for National Championships
  • Increased participation for all members at local invites

 

In the year 2000:

  • SSC surpassed 200 members
  • Took 75 swimmers to the Divisional meet
  • 40 swimmers qualified for the Age Group State Meet

 

1997

  • The team first surpassed 100 in enrollment

 

1993

  • The club hired Coach Andy Pedersen
  • SSC consisted 28 swimmers

A long way from 1989, the year the club started:

  • The club was founded in 1989 by Dan Johnson with approximately 8 swimmers.
