Southeastern Swim Club wins the FAST Invitational hosted in Fishers, Indiana
February 26th, 2010
SSC raced to a team victory and EIGHT new team records at the FAST Invitational held February 19-21, 2010. Joe Young broke his own team record in the 11-12 boys 1650 free with a time of 18:20.61. Charlotte Ahls broke the 11-12 girls 100 freestyle record with a time of 55.14. Charlotte also set the 11-12 girls 50 fly with a time of 27.53. She followed up by setting another team record in the 11-12 100 fly with a time of 1:01.31. Natalie Mudd swam to a record-setting time of 1:02.49 in the 11-12 girls 100 back. Jackson Russell broke the team record in the 13-14 100 breast posting a time of 1:02.27, shattering the 10 year old record previously held by Daniel Walter (1:04.33). Jackson also broke the team record in the 13-14 200 breast with a time of 2:17.45. The previous record was set by Tyler Keltner (2:18.17) in 1999. Drew Kibler broke the 10 & Under 50 free record with at time of 27.75. The previous record was set in 1999 by Spencer Osborne (27.75).
Southeastern Swim Club’s overall team score was boosted by individual wins from Charlotte Ahls (5x), Jackson Russell (2x), Drew Kibler, Luke Johnson, Joe Young and Noah Brenner. Charlotte Ahls won first place high point honors in the 11-12 girls. Jackson Russell won first place high point honors in the 13-14 boys and was joined by teammate Luke Johnson, finishing in 2nd in the 13-14 boys.

Southeastern Swim Club wins the FWA Invitational hosted in Fort Wayne, Indiana
January 31st, 2010
SSC raced to a team victory and four new team records at the Fort Wayne Aquatics Invitational held January 22-24, 2010. Joe Young broke his own 11-12 boys 500 free team record with a time of 5:18.21. His previous record was 5:22.66 set in December 2009. Charlotte Ahls broke the 11-12 girls 200 freestyle record with a time of 2:01.50. The previous record was set by Becky Retrum in 2001 with a time of 2:02.59. Natalie Mudd swam to a record-setting time of 1:02.86 in the 11-12 girls 100 back and broke the previous record held by Alex Clarke with a time of 1:03.40. Charlotte Ahls and Natalie Mudd paired with Allie Barnes and Caroline Thomas to break the 11-12 girls 200 medley relay with a time of 1:45.31. The previous record (1:45.63) was set in 2002 by Rachel Ternik, Lindsey Otto, Margo McCauley and Emily Schroeder.

SOUTHEASTERN SWIM SCHOOL EVENING LESSONS
January 27th, 2010
Southeastern Swim School will be offering group swim lessons at Hamilton Southeastern High School this spring. Hamilton Southeastern High School is located at 13910 East 126 Street. Registration will take place on Tuesday, February 23rd at the HSE HS Cafeteria from 5:30-7:30pm. Group lessons will be offered for children ages 3 and older in the evenings in March, April and May. Children must be toilet-trained to participate in swim lessons.

Southeastern Swim Club’s Molly Milborn Commits to University of Arkansas
Molly has committed to continue her swimming career at the collegiate level. Molly will attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Razorbacks are a NCAA Division I program that competes in the Southeastern Conference under the direction of Coach Jeff Poppell. Molly will be joining fellow Hamilton Southeastern teammates, Carly Mercer and Aubrey Hertzler.
Molly, daughter of Jim and Janette Milborn, plans to pursue studies in Nursing while attending the University of Arkansas. She is a Team Captain and will receive her fourth varsity letter this season. Molly has been named to the Honor Roll all four years while at Hamilton Southeastern High School. She has also been named a Scholastic All-American. She has received the Mental Attitude and Most Improved Award as a participant on the high school swim team. In addition to academics, athletics and school activities, she has been a swim lesson teacher for 5 years for the Southeastern Swim School.
Molly has been swimming competitively for Southeastern Swim Club for thirteen years. During her time at SSC, she was also named the Best Mental Attitude winner and has also received awards for Most Improved and Hardest Worker. She represented Hamilton Southeastern High School at the IHSAA State Championships where she finished 13th in the 100 fly. Southeastern Swim Club’s Emily Mudd Commits to Liberty University
December 8th, 2009
Emily has committed to continue her swimming career at the collegiate level. She will attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Flames are a NCAA Division I program that competes in the Big South Conference. The Flames inaugural swimming and diving season will be in 2010-2011 under the direction of Coach Jake Shellenberger.
Emily, daughter of Gregg and Tina Mudd, plans to pursue studies in Graphic Design while attending Liberty University. She will receive her fourth varsity letter this season. Emily has been named to the Honor Roll every semester while attending Hamilton Southeastern High School. She was in the Top 10 percent of her class as a freshman and sophomore. She has been named a Scholar Athlete for three years. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honorary and Student Council.
She has been a member of Southeastern Swim Club (SSC) for ten years. During her time at SSC, she has been named the Most Improved swimmer (2008) and has represented SSC at the Junior National level. In addition to academics, athletics and school activities, she has been a swim lesson teacher for 2 years for the Southeastern Swim School.

Southeastern Swim Club Performs Well at Recent Invites
November 29th, 2009
Southeastern Swim Club sent members of its team to both the Cincinnati Kast-a-way Invitational and the Center Grove Aquatic Club Invitational over the weekend of November 20-22nd. Many outstanding performances were turned in by the swimmers and resulted in a 1st place overall team finish at Center Grove and 4th place overall at the Cincinnati meet.
Joe Young shattered the SSC Team Record in 11-12 Boys 500 free with a time of 5:22.66. The previous record was set in 2005 by Marshall Osborne, with a time of 5:28.89. Joe came back to break another Team Record in the 11-12 Boys 200 free with a time of 2:03.01. This record was twelve years old and was previously held by Tyler Keltner in the time of 2:03.25.

Southeastern Swim Club’s Aubrey Hertzler Commits to University of Arkansas

Aubrey has committed to continue her swimming career at the collegiate level. She will attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Aubrey will join fellow Hamilton Southeastern Royals teammates Carly Mercer and Molly Milborn.
Aubrey, daughter of D.J. and Mindy Hertzler, plans to pursue studies in Finance while attending the University of Arkansas. She has been named an All-American Swimmer by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association and will receive her fourth varsity letter this season. Aubrey has been named to the Honor Roll while attending Hamilton Southeastern High School. She is in the Top 10 percent of her class and has received the Excellence in Academics and Athletics Award. She has been a member of Southeastern Swim Club (SSC) for five years. In addition to academics, athletics and school activities, she has been a swim lesson teacher for 4 years for the Southeastern Swim School.
During her time at SSC, she received the Hardest Worker Award and represented SSC at the Junior National and National levels. Aubrey has also represented Southeastern Swim Club while attending “Select Camp” at the Olympic Training Center. As a freshman at Hamilton Southeastern High School, she was a member of two IHSAA State Championship relay teams (200 and 400 freestyle). As an individual, she finished 3rd in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. As a sophomore, she was a member of the IHSAA State Championship 400 freestyle relay. She also placed 4 | | | |
