Stingray Parent Meeting

I. End of the Season Dates
a. Last swim practice for 11 & over swimmers w/ no Divisional cuts –-Wednesday 3/3.
b. Last swim practice for 10 & under swimmers not attending the Last Chance Meet on 3/14 – Wednesday 3/3.
c. Party and Awards – Wednesday, 3/3 - 8 PM.
II. Moving Up to the Next Group
a. Swimmers eligible for moving up have two options:
1. 11 and under swimmers will move to the Shark group.
2. 12 and over swimmers will move to the Marlins group.
3. There are specific requirements when moving to each group; they are listed on the website. My goal is to let you and your swimmer know by the 3rd if they are moving up.
III. Divisional Swim Meet
a. This is a championship qualifier meet – you only swim if you make the cut!
b. We have a few Stingrays at this point who have made the cut. There is still time to qualify at the Super Splash this weekend.
c. The following Stingrays have divisional cuts – Booth, E. Hart, T. Monger, Gutierrez, Watson, and Jaronsinski.
d. For championship meets, we assume you are swimming unless otherwise mentioned. Swimmers will be signed up for all events they have cuts for.
e. Detailed information is available on our website under the Divisional Championships link under upcoming events – Please read this!!!
IV. Age Group State
a. a. This is a championship qualifier meet – you only swim if you make the cut or if you qualify on a relay.
b. Stingrays can and do help qualify relays for the State meet.
c. If your swimmer qualifies for the meet they will then join the AGS team on the calendar.
d. These practices start on 3/8 and last until the meet is over! It is very important to recognize that these practices are mandatory – it is the only time of the year practices are required.
e. A list of relay swimmers will be posted online after the Divisional meet.
V. 10 and Under One Day Meet
a. March 14th – at FHS.
b. The deadline is tonight night if you want to swim!
c. Swimmers are finished for the season after this meet.
VI. Spring and Summer Swimming
a. Option 1: Long Course Full Season
· Begins April 19 and ends week of July 19.
· Will be allowed to compete at the Summer Sizzler Meet hosted by SSC and held at IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI July 9-11.
· Will also be able to compete in Super Splashes and other invitationals.
· Volunteer commitment is 15 hours
· Full Payment cost is $396
· Payment Plan cost is $404. April 1st $100, May 1st $152, and June 1st $152
b. Option 2: Summer Prep Season
· Begins April 19 and ends May 29
· Will be allowed to compete in Super Splashes and invitationals scheduled during this time period.
· Cost is $280 and due April 19
