Jeanne Tracy

Future Royal 4 Co-Head Coach

Future Royal 4 Head Coach

Go to a swim meet where Jeanne Tracy is coaching and you will have no doubts about her profound influence on young people- it is not uncommon for another coach or parent to excitedly introduce themselves as someone she guided years ago. Ask an SSC alum who their favorite coach was and no doubt you'll hear stories about Jeanne's Bagel challenges, Pyramid sets, or the famous Indy 500 challenge.

In a legendary coaching career spanning decades, Jeanne has shared her passion and energy with countless athletes, including too many state champions, high point award winners, 10&U team titles, and record holders to count. She is one of the most successful developmental coaches in the history of Indiana Swimming.

She began her swimming life as an eight-year-old in the New Jersey-Philadelphia area, ultimately achieving her personal goal of competing at Senior Nationals at age 18. Jeanne moved to Indiana to attend Anderson University and began there, coaching - and swimming - with age groupers there.

Through the years she has been a head coach for age group, summer league, middle school, and high school teams. She has coached all ages and ability levels but at all stops, the athletes she has worked with have enjoyed success. Her greatest talent is bringing out the best in others and helping young people believe they can do anything! It is just about impossible not to have fun swimming for Coach Jeanne. She has been with SSC since 2007 and recently retired from teaching physical education, most recently at Highland Junior High in Anderson.

Why I Coach:

The reason I coach is because I want athletes to find the same joy in swimming that I did when I was 6 years old and first getting started. This joy can be found at any age, starting right from the beginning or joining in High School. Swimming can also teach so many important life lessons including time management, hard work, resilience, and learning to take ownership of what you do. I owe a lot to the sport of swimming as well as the coaches who helped me get to where I am today and I love coaching as a way to help give back to the community that gave me so much for so many years growing up!
