JR1 Week 22 (January 27th- February 2nd):
Hello Everyone!
First off, thank you SO MUCH for the snack gifts on Friday! Andrea and I were quite touched by the offer, and it was an amazing way to end off what was really an extremely fun night.
This week we got even more strong swimming ahead of us, along with a high school meet on Saturday, a club meet that’s only 3 WEEKS OUT!!! So let’s get into it!
Practice Schedule this week:
Announcement #1:
We finally have more information on the Northside Invitational from Saturday, February 15th to the 16th! This is the last major club meet for the season, after which there will only be splashes and championship meets until the start of Summer season in April.
Do not worry about deadlines for signing up to this meet. Due to how it was structured and the delay on information, we made the decision to sign up our whole team to avoid missing the deadline, so if you’re swimmer cannot come just let us know and we’ll remove them from the roster. Please let us know ASAP, however, if you cannot attend so that we don’t try to cram events in for your swimmers last minute only to find out they cannot go.
You can find the races available at the meet under the on the Team Calendar by looking for “Northside Invitational” and then clicking “Meet Letter.” Please note that we will require the races you swimmer wants to be in before 5pm on Monday, February 3rd. Failure to have this entered beforehand may result in your swimmer being cut from the meet. I will personally enter in the races of every swimmer I talk with, but for those whose swimmer(s) don’t get to speak with me this week, please either get into the meet signup and sign up your swimmers, or shoot us an email and we’ll get them placed in.
Like with the last meet, I will be talking with each swimmer individually about the races they will swim. However, unlike last meet, we will be trying to nudge some of our swimmers who have already swam a meet before out of their comfort zone slightly. Likewise, if your swimmer found out at the last meet that one day was really fun and they would like to try both days this time, please let us know and we will be more than happy to accommodate!
If you have any other questions about this, please feel free to reach out.
Announcement #2:
On Wednesday, we will start off practice with a fun, short seminar on mentality at meets, which will include some development of swim meet playlists for swimmers to listen to. For this meeting, we ask that swimmers bring their phones, iPods, or whatever device they like to listen to music on to participate in this activity.
Have a wonderful evening, and we’re looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
