JR2 News!

Hi everyone!

Happy Sunday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It is AGE GROUP STATE WEEK! Many of our JR2 athletes are headed to the natatorium this weekend to represent the JR2 group on some relays. Shoutout to: Olivia McIntosh, Marisa Crespi, Scout Pope, Will Mattick, Bennett Bailey, Tanner Tisch, Jacob Lawrance, Andy Mitchell, and Campbell Ewing for making the State Team!

That being said, we will have a normal week of practices this week. We will be focusing on turns and carrying power off the wall into a fast breakout. This part of the season is my favorite because we have some flexibility and can take a step back and clean up some technical things and create good habits that we can carry with us into the summer season.

On the social side of things, SSC is having their first “Dine to Donate”  of 2025 at Panera Bread. Please see the following message from Stephaine Miller: Mark your calendars and set your alarms for Wednesday, March 19, 4-8pm at Panera on Campus Parkway for SSC's first Dine to Donate of 2025! Let them handle dinner that night while helping raise money for our Club! Use code FUND4U at panerabread.com, in the Panera app or at the kiosk in the cafe and 25% of sales will go to SSC! More details in the comments and printed out flyers will be available at the pool beginning Monday (if you place your order at the register). Share with your friends, family, coworkers and anyone else who loves Panera and helping swimmers realize their full potential!” I have attached the flyers to the event to this email. You will find the practice schedule under that.

Finally, just to put it on everyone's radar, after spring break I will no longer be able to be at Tuesday morning workouts. I have accepted a temporary 2nd grade teaching position at Geist Elementary that will begin the Monday after spring break and go through the end of the school year. I will now have to be at school earlier and will not be able to make it to Tuesday mornings. I will be writing the workouts and Coach Abby will be coming in to run the practice and be with the kids. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Best,

Coach Emily
