When your child is done swimming, I like to ask them two questions: what about your swim are you proud of and what is one thing you want to work on. You can also ask them these questions! While times are important and we love to see them drop time, they aren't always going to drop time. They may also get DQ and that is okay too! Every swim is an opportunity for our kids to be more mindful about their swimming and own their races from start to finish.
I am so incredibly proud of this group of swimmers. They have been working hard and challenging each other in practice. If you have been watching you may see them swim three wide at practice trying to race each other during different sets. With that being said, you may also see them signed up for an event or two in the coming meets that you aren't quite sure they can do or do well, but I wouldn't put them in an event unless I know they can do it! Your kids are amazing and they are capable of so much!
This week we will start working on swimming longer distances and swimming fast for longer periods of time in all four strokes!
Your swimmer will need the following equipment each day at practice: fins, kickboard, pull buoy and snorkel. Our dryland days are Monday and Wednesday, please make sure that your swimmer is wearing pants/shorts, t-shirt and tennis shoes. Last, but not least, they need to have a water bottle at every practice.

This will be a great opportunity for our kids to see some amazing swimming from Katie Ledecky, Carson Foster, Lily King and Aaron Shackell! Kylie and I will be there around 6:00pm to get snacks and find our seats. We can meet everyone by the stairs on the west side (closest to the track/where Indy Eleven plays). Please let me know if you plan to attend so that I can be on the lookout for you!
